Burning man

A transformative experience in the desert. Starts August 25th in Nevada, USA.

Burning Man takes place from 8/25 to 9/2 in Nevada’s Black Rock Desert.

Burning man is a week-long gathering where 70K+ people build a temporary city in the desert, dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance. Here, participants from all over the world come together to create a transformative environment.

Tickets:

If you haven’t bought tickets yet, they are reselling for ~$660 including fees:

  • STEP: Register for Burning Man’s Secure Ticket Exchange Program, which allows participants to buy and sell tickets at face value. This program reopens on 8/1, so mark your calendar to ensure you get a ticket.

  • Secondary Market: Tickets are also open on the secondary ticket marketplace. When buying secondary tickets, avoid paying over face value and use payment methods with buyer protection. 

  • Jabberwock Sale: If you are unable to acquire tickets through the methods above, these tickets can be purchased for $1500.

Camps: 

  • The event is divided into over 1,500 themed camps, including Thunder Dome, Brain Freeze, and Black Rock Roller Disco. Check out the camp directory to learn more about each one. 

    • Research: Browse the camp directory and shortlist 3-5 camps that resonate with your interests and skills.

    • Reach Out: Contact your selected camps directly using the provided email addresses.

    • Showcase Your Talents: In your email, highlight your talents, what you can contribute to the camp, and why you’re excited to join them. Emphasize how you can enhance the camp's experience with your unique skills + enthusiasm.

Tips: 

  • Local rental companies like RVs 4 Less and RV Rentals in Reno provide RVs and trailers for $160 to $300 per day. 

  • Pack a few essentials, including sunscreen, aftersun lotion, first aid kit, tent, toiletries, flashlight, sleeping bag, toilet paper, umbrella, trash bag, and towels.
